I've heard that at many sixth forms pupils doing maths and further maths take the normal A level maths in the first year and do further in the second year and apparently this is the best way to do it?

The sixth form i'm going to, from my knowledge do both at the same time? (they're a very good sixth form - the best in my area).

Is there any advantage to doing maths in the first year and fm in the second?

Now Maths has gone linear I think most schools might change to doing both in Year 13.
