I'm going into Y11 and lots of people are telling me to start revising now but then I see lots of posts saying to revise a few months before exams so I'm really not sure when to start revising. My main concern is if I revise now I won't remember some of it and it will be useless but if I start to revise too late I won't have enough time to properly revise everything. I finished my trails predicted some grade 6s, 7s and a few 8s without revision

It all depends if you are a short term learner or a long term learner. Some people can revise a topic really early and then know the information for the exam however some deal best with cramming (this doesn't just mean the night before the exam). My advice to you would be to check over all your knowledge from year 10, especially maths. If you're eager to start revision you should re read your English texts and try to start learning quotes with their analysis.
I would personally recommend making revision recourses e.g. Flash cards and posters around February half term and start revising them around Easter time (however it may be a good idea to start revising them sooner). Something else that worked for me with English literature was revising really well for the mocks we had in year 11, this meant that by the time the summer exams arrived, I was more prepared than I realised.
However it does depend on what type of learner you are but don't worry as you still have a year, there is plenty of time to figure it out.
Remember, any work you do as preperation will most likely help you when Exam season arrives. GCSE's are stressful and you don't want to be left wishing you'd done more throughout the year.

Revision should always start on day 1 & continue all through the year! Then its less stressful towards exam time as you already have revision notes.

You can start now if you like just keep going over revision notes in the future to refresh your memory.

I wish I had revised early, or at least made revision material throughout year 10 and year 11. If I were you I would consolidate what you have learnt in year 10 by making revision materials such as notes, flashcards and mindmaps, which you will be able to revise from for your mocks and real exams.

Thanks for the advice everyone I think I'm going to start making revision resources now and go over them throughout the year and try using spaced repetition with these to see if that works for me
