I'm an international student who's going to uni in September for second year. However in my uni student accommodation is available only for first year students. So I have a couple of questions about accommodation and visas.

When you apply for a student visa in the uk (tier 4) do they need proof of where you will be staying? because I still don't have anywhere to stay as of yet and I've heard that you can't rent a flat without actually viewing it from multiple letting agents which means I won't be able to rent a flat till I get there. I assume i'll have to stay in a hotel for a while till I find a flat.

If I apply for a student visa and put a hotel as where I will be living will I still get the visa? Is there anything I can do? I'm very stressed out and I need help.
