Not awfully helpful. Care to elaborate as to the situation slightly more?

At first glance I would have said its awkward for you, and a tad strange, but there's nothing "wrong" about it.

is it right if my friend goes out with my uncle?

Well it is a TAD weird.
How old is your uncle?

Reply 3

well i have just found out

but i feel really strange bout it but is it wierd for one of my friends going out with my uncle

Reply 4

he is 40 and she is 17

Reply 5

It might be weird, but from what you've said it isn't wrong.

Edit: Hmm, a big age gap. But I wouldn't say it's wrong.

Reply 6

its strange i was just asking cos thought it was a tad wierd

Reply 7

It IS a large age gap, but I know of worse.

Reply 8

Yeah i'd say that's a bit strange.... Huge age gap.

Reply 9

Hmm. Yep, I haven't heard of anything like that happening before.
I mean the uncle and friend thing is a bit strange, but I think the age gap is what's most worrying.

At first I thought your uncle might have been young or something. I mean I'm 18 and one of my uncles is 25. That sort of thing would be more okay.
But I don't really see what a 40 year old would see in someone who is 17.

Reply 10

Thats just wrong imo... when his own niece is the same age. And he could easily have a daughter that age :s-smilie:

Reply 11

It is a pretty big age gap, and I wouldn't go for someone so much older, but of course there's nothing wrong with it technically, as people have said.

But I empathise with you thinking it's weird, because you are so close to them both.

Would you feel any different if your friend was with a 40 year old you'd never met?

40 and 17 ??? Well why don't you tell your freind that she can do better then that rather then go out with somebody that is older enough to be her dad.
Well to be honest I don't think its right, and I seriously think theres something wrong with your mate, well who knows? they might love each other loads:biggrin:  .
I think she should get a life (no offence to you or your mate, but that is weird)

Yeah, it's closer to frankincense.

Well, relationships with big age gaps do exist and do sometimes seem to work... so I don't see how a couple of numbers are supposed to help strangers on a forum have an opinion on the suitability of these two people for each other...

Reply 18

What the hell is your uncle thinking. This is awkward in so many ways the fact your friend has got involved in something like this. To be honest most relationships don't last with that age gap, mean by the time she's 27, he'll be like 50.

Incense. LOL.

I once knew someone who thought that people who discriminated against black people were 'Rapists'.
