Hi, I'm starting at southampton uni in sept and wondered if anyone knows where you can park for lectures? There must be some places to park for people who drive in but I can't seem to find anywhere. Does anyone have any advice?

There used to be a park and ride permit available to park at wessex lane halls but I don't know if that's still an option.

There's a lot of 2 and 3 hour parking in the surrounding streets and a very small handful of spaces without a time restriction.

There's a pay and display carpark but it's £8 for the day iirr and is full by 8:30am.

When I was a student I was able to get a permit for the oceanography centre, sometimes there's permits available for avenue campus but I wouldn't count on it.

If you can't manage to move your car every few hours I would suggest asking around for second and third years in private housing with driveways/permits to rent a space within walking distance. Go for highfield/avenue/portswood area and avoid the flowers estate.
