I've finished my second year of the law course and will be going into my third year in October.

However, I'm really not enjoying law. I feel like I've picked the wrong subject and it's causing me unhealthy amounts of stress - I find the material incredibly boring and difficult to engage with.

I also love Oxford and the tutorial system, and I love learning about things I genuinely care about. I would therefore like to switch to Geography, skipping first year and going straight into second year. Is this possible (of course, I'd need to be interviewed)?
I love Geography, and it's my best subject (I achieved full marks in GCSE and A Level), and have always regretted not choosing it for undergraduate study.

Any constructive comments will be gratefully received

I'm not sure about the skipping first year part, but changing courses is definitely possible - a girl I know was studying physics (or something similar, I don't remember exactly) at Oxford, but switched courses and is now taking music. Which college are you currently at, and would you be looking to stay at that college or move to a different one?

I'd definitely like to remain in my college (which I won't disclose bc I'd rather stay anonymous at this stage).

If I can't go straight into second year I'd probably not bother due to the financial and time expense

Fair enough on both points. :')

You won't be allowed to skip first year, because you would have to do the core modules before progressing into second year. I would say just complete your final year and do a masters in something regarding Environmental Law, if you still want to pursue geography.

It is possible to skip years if the subjects are similar - medicine to biomedical science, chemistry to biochemistry etc - but law to geography? I very much doubt they'd let you skip first year.

I would ask a geography tutor at your college to find out their position.
