You sound kind of centrist, if a little homophobic. Why shouldn't gay men adopt? There are many capable single fathers so surely a gay couple is twice as good?
I would agree with this, on the gay rights aspect. From a trans perspective, definitely more typically conservative though.

This is literally the worst kind of approach. I will 100% call out people on their bigotry every single time because you know what? They deserve to feel ashamed and hide their opinions.

Trump won the US election not because people "hid their opinions" but because the entire US goverment has been structured around disenfranchising certain voter groups since it's inception and that has consistently been preserved and slowly "improved" to ensure that "dissenting" voters are not given a voice. Why do you think a majority black state like Louisiana brought in voter ID laws requiring voters to go to a DMV to get the relevant ID, closed the DMVs in every black majority census area, and mandated that DMVs close on weekends and outside regular business hours, necessitating people to take time off work to do so? Don't bring up political systems you don't understand in defending a bigot.

Not to mention Trump actually won the presidency partly because the continued media acceptance of his outrageously bigoted behaviours towards women, people of colour, Muslims and others sent the message to people that this kind of behaviour was acceptable and should be supported. It was supported, and now the US has record levels of hate crimes occurring across the country.

The only valid response to this type of attitude is to stamp it out by systematically ostracizing those who prey on already vulnerable minority peoples, particularly where they have been systematically denied the rights and entitlements due them under a just system.
I think your response was overkill though, this person is asking a question and they haven't insulted anyone or asked to take away anyone's rights, they've just stated their opinion on something. The next time this person won't ask this question for fear of being ostracised, but if you think that will stop them thinking about it and stewing on it then you're pretty naive.

I'd rather know people's opinions out in the open where I can debate it and if breaking the law they can be dealt with rather than they just keep it inside and then years down the line someone sells them a society where everything will be tremendous if they blame the Mexicans.

You sound like me, a libertarian. You believe in the rights of every citizen. I also don't do political correctness, well, at least not to the level that the Snowflakes have pushed it. I wouldn't worry about your view on the trans people. I believe in the LGB not the T. Same as the other 'Genders' and folk like Non-binaries. They have mental Heath issues that are being disguised through PC.

Expressing a damaging opinion about trans men and women is tantamount to taking away their rights as it signals to legislators who do want to take away those rights that they will not be opposed in doing so.

I don't know what planet you live on but politics is not an abstract debate, these are issues which directly affect people's lives every single day and silence on these matters, or framing them as only conceptual opinions with no effect on reality is implicit support of those policies.

I will take this opportunity to remind you of a rather famous poem:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

This specifically refers to the reaction of the German intelligentsia in the rise of the Nazi party. It may not affect you but if you do not take every opportunity to speak out about it sooner or later it will (and it is cowardly to not defend, with every last breath, your fellow peoples' right to live as all others).

Expressing a damaging opinion is not tantamount to taking away anyone's right. I'm not saying people should stay silent, I'm asking you to listen and acknowledge that other people have different points of views. As a black person, I'd rather sit and listen to why someone might have a negative view on black people than shut them down with insults before I got the chance to hear it. Just because they don't share their damaging opinions, it doesn't stop them having these opinions.

One may call my opinion damaging. But if the left wish to silence people like me, you would have an even worse situation. I agree with the above. Open-discussion, even if it may be insulting, is the best way for everybody. We do live in a democracy.

I just wanted to say two things.

I am black. And I have an I.D. It's not hard to get. Only time identification is hard is for some light skinned black people look different depending on whether it's summer or winter but that applies to everyone except dark skinned black people ironically....

And secondly President Trump has never said anything against black people his opponent did she called black men super predators. And we saw black men voted for Donald Trump in higher numbers than past gop candidates. Btw I am a black woman who supported Donald Trump and vote for him the day after Hillary Clinton went on the last debate trying to support partial birth abortion and moments after a lady at the library mentioned how he could help with illegal activity at the border. Just because I am black doesn't mean I don't care about human life or the safety and welfare of my country. My family has been here for 400 years both white and black families for that matter.

The problem is you see person A say "I am conflicted about transgender persons using different bathrooms" to person B "I am Mr Hitler here is my army lets kill x people"

You think the world would be a better place if person A agreed with you and trans people could use opposite bathrooms and such. Problem is you have to win the argument through reason, evidence and understanding of the opposite sides concerns. You cant just bulldoze your views onto people and try to smite them down if they dont just adopt your view

Thats why Trump won. Thats why there is huge backlash and anger towards SJW's

I'm very sexist when it comes lgbt people tbh. That's true. I tend to think men in general are promiscuous compared to women and gay men aren't an exception to me. Just another example. I just think generally with adoption gay men are like single men. So if a single man can't adopt neither should gay men. But I do think they have a right to raise their own biological children just like any other father. My own father was bisexual.
Single men can adopt in the uk I think, maybe not in america. Why is it your opinion that single men and gay couples shouldn't adopt - saying it's illegal is not your own moral opinion. Do you mean to say if single men were legally allowed to adopt you would be ok with gay couples adopting as well?

So you think it'd be safer if this trans kid girl went to a male bathroom?
Since when do small children go to into adult bathrooms on their own? The father should take him into the boys. Anything else is socially irresponsible. I would sooner pee my pants than start demanding to be admitted to the ladies toilets. Has the world (excepting Trump, of all people) gone completely insane? :lolwut:

This is my point. Interesting phrase there, "you can just bulldoze your views onto people". Doing that isn't going to make them change their minds, all you do is breed a population of people who can't speak their minds but can still do damage in secret through their votes.

Exactly and often there is common ground to be found on the issue, its just one or both parties arent aware of information the other has. If they discussed and talked they would be more informed at least
