A-Level English Help Watch

So basically I wanted to do creative writing as an A-Level however the course is being discontinued next year. Does anyone know if English Language and Literature involve aspects of creative writing? By that I mean me being able to create my own plots, characters, etc. Not just analysing others work and writing about it.

For my Language course (individual) part of the coursework was to create an original writing piece and commentary. A part of the second exam was also to write an opinion/feature article. Literature while you could write about a text of choice, it wasn't really creative writing and I believe it's the same for the combined course sadly. However, a peer from my literature course has been accepted for creative writing at University regardless (if that's your intention).

Depending on the exam board lit can involve a bit of creative writing in the coursework but is mostly text based analysis because it is about why they wrote it not how they wrote it.

Lang I believe you can do a bit but that ultimately focuses on the words and stuff

I myself did the creative writing AS and I am sad for others that it is being stopped. Perhaps get involved in creative writing in your school as a lesser alternative
