Leave her. If a girl is still in contact with an ex it's an instant red flag.

I mean that's a little drastic, they were friends before they got together and their entire friend circle is the same. I'm okay with her not hating his guts, nice change actually that she's not on the back of something horrific, I'm just uneasy how much she's chatting to him in total.

i disagree with everyone here who is telling you ti trust her. you NEED to find out what is going on between them two. She may be stringing you along until she is ready to get back with him. If you should trust her like everyone here says, she should not be hiding anything from you. There is nothing wring with asking her what she talks to her ex about. Go ahead and just plain ask her if she still has feelings for him..

How would she react if you asked your ex to meet for food and if you were hiding your texts from her?

Lmao all these guys talking about not being insecure and stopping worrying. Here's something you shouldn't be doing - being a ****ing doormat.

In my experience honesty is the best thing you can do in a relationship, you have insecurities about something ? Air them out, in a mature way and work through it as a couple. Ask her if she's still talking to her ex and tell her you don't want her to continue doing so. That doesn't make you insecure it makes you not a ****ing cuckhold. If she leaves you she was never a catch to begin with anyway, if she respects you it wouldn't be that big of a deal to stop it.
