I don't get why some Brits have this compulsion to change their accent when pronouncing a foreign country or word, mid ****ing sentence. We're the only country in the world that does this. It's not as if you're going to get a Spaniard in London walking into the chippy and saying "Hola compañero, puedo tener *puts on cockney accent* fish and chips please mate! Gracias!".

I don't get why some Brits have this compulsion to change their accent and the way certain letters are pronounced when pronouncing a foreign country or word. We're the only country in the world that does this. It's not as if you're going to get a Spaniard in London walking into the chippy and saying "Hola compañero, puedo tener *puts on cockney accent* fish and chips please mate!".
And the uneducated worker replies "Oui" in a French accent ofc
