I read through the reforms of the new A levels and I supported it except when I read that A*s will be based on how your year group did on their GCSEs, so does that mean your GCSEs will decide what you get in your A levels? This is giving me a heart attack since I am not going to do very well in GCSEs

GCSEs should have no effect on your final A-level grade

You have misunderstood. As part of the overall grade boundary setting they will look at the ability of the cohort or people taking A levels but your own grades will have no bearing on what grade you achieve.
