Tuition fee loan for doctoral students? watch

    • Thread Starter

Hi. I have a pretty simple question: are doctoral EU students eligible for a tuition fee loan?

I know there is a separate loan scheme being worked out for 2018 and after, but I am asking about the current system, and specifically for tuition fees.

    Thanks for your time!

    Hi Koznyshev,

Currently for Student Finance England there is no funding in place for PhD/doctorate level courses although we plan to offer this for the 2018/19 academic year.

Currently the only funding we have for Post Graduate students is the Post Graduate Loan (PGL) and it is for Masters level 7 courses only. It is a contribution to costs loan that is paid directly to the student and it can be used however the student chooses towards the cost of Tuition Fees and/or living costs. There is no separate Tuition Fee Loan.

The policy has yet to be confirmed for the PhD funding. You will be able to find more information about this next summer.

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
