Pretty much all uk universities will have an active LGBT community.
I would suggest you start looking for somewhere that offers the course and learning environment that suits you. When you've got a long list of 10 or so universities look into the lgbt society and ask about the social opportunities outside of university to narrow down your choices.
I can second what PQ says! Focus on your course first and make a shortlist, then really look into the LGBT aspects of the university and city.
Since you asked though, Brighton and Manchester get my vote (I studied at Sussex and my best friend MMU so I have experience of both)
