My pretty much only friend is most likely going to tech in September, so does anyone have any advice as to what I should do regarding friends/friend groups if I go back for sixth form? I'll know most of the people there as few change schools, but I'm not actually friends with anyone else and I'm the kind of person who isn't very sociable and can't really make new friends.

I know I won't need friends in classes as it's better to focus on the work anyways, but I was just thinking about in the mornings before school, in form class, at break and at lunch

try and get in with the first year sixth formers... it's not ideal but everyone in second year will most definitely have a well established friend group and be more 'clichey'. It's hard to make new friends but i guess just start brief conversations with people on the bus, or in likes at the caff or in class and hope you can latch on.

There isn't much to it, tbh - just say hi to whoever sits next to you in class or something, join a society of some sort and see how it goes! I completely get where you're coming from btw, I was the only one from my school going to that sixth form so I literally knew nobody when I started and now I have quite a few friends
    Good luck

How did you get from knowing noone to having friends? I just started sixth form quite similar to OP (meaning I'm pretty normal, I smile at people and have conversations with them but they already have their own friends and fl the need to not accept ppl as they are fine on their own) What can I do to make at least one friend, not just someone to talk to in class but someone to hang with? I'm genuinely getting really depressed now. I thought ppl would want to be friends straight away but it doesn't seem to be the case:'(
