Hi

I am interested in applying to the affiliate Veterinary Medicine programme in October. I am a mature student and have a 2:1 BSc in Bioveterinary Science, along with extension work experience. However, I do not have A levels.

I wanted to confirm whether I would still be able to apply to the affiliate Veterinary Medicine programme with just my degree and no A level grades, or would my application automatically be rejected for not having the required A level grades? I am also aware that I would have to take the NSAA exam, which I am currently preparing for.

It would be fantastic to be able to include Cambridge as one of my choices when applying in October.

Hi, thanks for posting. We would consider you if you were to apply. We would assess you on the NSAA, your degree and any level 3 qualifications you have.

Hi thank you for replying so quickly, that’s great ☺️ I was so worried I wouldn’t be eligible at all, exciting!

I've watched the Engineering interview for Trinity College. Will the mature interviews be the same, with a part dedicated to our Personal Statement, and the other part engineering questions?

They will be broadly similar but you should expect to spend most of the time on problems relating to engineering.

Great, I can't wait, but I'm feeling so nervous. Any specific topics you would recommend I go over? Or any specific resources I should use to prepare myself?

If you've watched the example videos from the University and are carrying on your wider reading then there's nothing else needed. We don't expect candidate to spend hours and hours on preparation - there is such thing as overprepared!

Hello! It’s amazing that this forum is so active and your help is recognised and appreciated! I’m currently working on applying to a FE college to undergo the Access to Law diploma this year. I know the entry requirements are distinctions for all units, however does previous academic work have any bearing?

Do applicants also need to take a test before or after applying, and I’d like to know what you would consider a competitive application when it comes to the undergraduate Law degree.

Hi thanks for posting, I'd be happy to help.

We will consider all relevant information, but we're most interested in your most recent and relevant performance. For 2022 entry, you take the Cambridge Law Test in December and you don't need to register in advance. In terms of a competitive application, we would want to see a strong academic in Law explored through wider reading, strong references, that you're on track for the typical offer and supported by good written work.

Hi there,

I had an interview for HSPS earlier this week. I am just wondering if there is a specific day that decisions will be sent out by the colleges, as with the first round? Or if this will vary and if so is it likely to be before the Easter holidays?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I have an interview for Natsci and was wondering what kind of preparation is needed especially for Maths as I haven’t done it in a while. I’ve watched the mock interview videos for Physical Natsci and saw questions including graphs, will this be the case for Bio Natsci as well?

Hi, thanks for posting! The answer partly depends on which first year options you're likely to take (including which maths option). In general we would not expect as high a level of mathematics from a biologist as a physical scientist, but there isn't a neat distinction - many biological scientists take Chemistry and/or Earth Science in the first year and may indeed choose the maths for physical sciences option.

Thanks for the reply. I was asked which modules I plan to take and I did choose Mathematics for Biologists since I don’t have A-Level Maths. However I also plan to take Chemistry and Earth Sciences. If there’s a Physicist on my interview panel, am I more likely to be asked higher maths questions despite choosing the Bio Natsci tripo?
