If I do a level 3 professional cookery course at collage for 2 years and get how ever many ucas points I need to get into uni, will there be any hold backs on what courses(at university) I can do apart from grades. Basically what I'm asking is if I do professional cookery level 3, will I then be able to do a bachelors degree. Or am I better off doing A levels. Thanks

A lot of degrees require specific A levels, or the offers are made based on grades not on points.

Your level 3 qualification needs to suitable and relevant for the degree course you are interested in, even if it meets the tariff points requirement. For example you might have enough points to do a Maths degree but cookery level 3 is unlikely to be seen as a relevant qualification.

So check the entry requirements for the specific course(s) you are considering at specific universities.... they all vary.
