I have a conditional offer from the University of York for law which requires me to achieve AAA. I have an unconditional offer from the University of Leicester for law as my insurance. After a lot of careful thought, I have decided that if I do not get into York, I do not want to go to Leicester. I think I was too persuaded by the concept and safety of an unconditional that I did not fully consider my choice to put it down as insurance. Is there a way to go through clearing if York reject me?

    Hi there!
Yes, there is a way to go straight into clearing if York rejects you, however it is very time sensitive!
As explained in the FAQ of the first post of this thread it is possible to change/remove choices, but this must be done and fully confirmed with UCAS by 6pm on Friday. They will most likely be receiving a lot of calls this week regarding this, so DO NOT LEAVE IT UNTIL 5:45 ON FRIDAY.
To get this confirmed, you will need to phone both Leicester and UCAS (not just one of them!)
    Good luck!

You could also ask Leicester to be released into clearing if you don't get the grades for York on results day, however I don't know how easy this would be with the unconditional offer.

yes, apologies! This is also possible, however it may take some time on results day so if you are looking for a clearing space then it can waste time trying to do this on results day.

Just contact your insurance (Leicester) to reject their unconditional offer so you drop straight into clearing.

PQ can you confirm the best way please (soz, I should know this by now...)
