Sorry to tell you but Medicine (normally) doesn't go into clearing/adjustment. It's very oversubscribed.

    That isn't true

Lots of people are recruited through clearing without any places being advertised - they're applicants previously rejected who are contacted directly by the med schools and placed on a waiting list.

Last year St George's openly advertised vacancies for medicine. https://www.sgul.ac.uk/news/news-arc...ing-first-time

And their page here: https://www.sgul.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/clearing suggests they'll do the same thing this year.

Stats on number of acceptances by application route for the last few years
    https://www.ucas.com/file/84231/download?token=ooGyWYYN

Pre-clin medicine Clearing (Direct and Main Scheme) 575 acceptances, 15 adjustment, 6760 Firm, 80 insurance, 150 Extra/swaps, 245 back door (RPA).

That's 7% of all students starting medicine last year getting their place through clearing. If you count adjustment and RPAs it's 11%

Does this apply to students who haven't applied to SGUL in the main admission cycle?

Does this apply for studens who haven't applied to that particular university before?
There's no details on that - in the majority of cases no but there's always exceptions. If an applicant hasn't applied to a university then that university can't see their application and they wont have been interviewed - so they're not likely to be contacted by the university and would have to do the legwork themselves.

So after doing some research, SGUL had around 40 places through clearing last year. They received 1825 calls (by 11am) on results day.
