Does anyone know of any possible work experience/jobs for people wanting to go into history or archaeology?

There's no direct preference, and I'm up for doing a summer school/a few weeks abroad etc.

I'm just trying to find something and I haven't been able to find anything so far.

You don't need work experience for academic courses like history or archeaology

Look for public lectures, documentaries, podcasts, local history events, events at your local museums/historical buildings and follow your interests in your free time rather than just the topics on your curriculum.

Listen to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07d...pisodes/player (and try to find previous series online) and do some of your own research into the people and events mentioned.

Look at the modules that are available at different universities and on different courses and dig into anything that looks interesting. Look at the people teaching those courses and what research they've been involved in.

    Thanks

I've been trying to find some online courses or Summer schools in 2018 but most available are for those in Year 12 (and I've finished college so that's a bit of a problem...) The only one avaliable is Oxford, but I don't really have the money to fork of £1300 for a week learning about Rome/Tolkien etc.
