Can I get the STD-clinic to delete my records?

So, I'm now in a monogamous relationship after many years being single and sexually active. I don't have any STIs and never had any symptoms other than a single wart, that was frozen off and I never heard of it ever again.

I don't like the idea of my sexual history on a computer, especially after the recent cyber attacks. Especially as the clinic I go to is particularly close to my partner and it's quite possible that her friends/family may work there. My GP isn't even aware of my sexual history. Can I get my NHS STD clinic to delete my record?

By law, if you don't even contact the clinic for 6 years, they have to delete them anyway. While I know sex and sexual health is quite taboo, there isn't anything wrong with having sex and getting checked. To answer your question, I don't think they will delete them, if it's NHS, everything you do medically goes on there but there's no harm in asking the clinic

If the worst happened - and given how seriously sexual health records are treated, I'd expect people in charge of them to be facing jail time - how would it affect you if someone knew you'd once had a virus that almost everyone gets at some point in their lives?
