    Hi,

I am starting an Adult Nursing Pre-Registration (MSc) Course this September at UCLan (3 years full time). I have applied for NHS Bursary but the amount I would be getting isn't enough to help with living costs. I have submitted an application to student finance for the reduced loan as well. However, when I entered my course details, the student finance website came back saying the course was illegible for maintenance loan? When I chose one of the listed courses, it allowed me to submit my application. But when I checked after submission, the course I chose was Adult Nursing Pre-Reg (BSc) not the MSc option. The online application won't allow me to change this course and is saying I have to send a change of circumstance form. My questions are:

    - As a Pre-Reg MSc Nursing Student, am i eligible for Reduced Maintenance Loan? I am getting mixed information. Some are saying no and some are confirming I can still get the maintenance loan even though i am eligible for NHS bursary.

    - Do I have to send out a change of circumstance form to correct my course details or will Student Finance just get this information from my university?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi aejie1990,

The Adult Nursing Pre-Registration (MSc) course will not attract funding from SFE if you are in receipt of NHS funding.

    Warm regards.

    Thanks Shaun,

Will I have the option of choosing between SFE and the NHS Bursary? As I feel the NHS Bursary may not be enough for my living costs.

    Regards.

    Hi again aejie1990,

You would be unable to choose as the course does attract that funding. It will be the same for all students studying the course.

    Warm regards.
