    Hi,

So it's getting closer to results day and I'm starting to have second thoughts about my insurance. It is UEA for History grade requirements AAB. I'm thinking about declining it and going for Lancaster in clearing ( if of course I miss my firm). Lancaster is ranked 5th and 9th for History in the new Guardian and CUG tables and it's grade requirements are AAB but likely to go down a grade as it's clearing. What should I do? UEA is ranked outside top 20 for History but with the same requirements as Lancaster...

Why do you think it's "likely to go down a grade as it's clearing"? Many courses don't actually lower their requirements through Clearing. Additionally, if this is the only course you're after, it's possible it won't be in Clearing at all.

Hi I've checked and it is in clearing and I have spoken to Lancaster themselves and they say that the offer usaully gets reduced in clearing.

If you take out league tables, objectively which would you go for?

If you see it as better for other factors as well as league tables then speak to your insurance about putting you into clearing now rather than trying to get released if needs be on results day. It will depend on what their applicants get whether or not they will lower the grades so they can only give you a rough idea now.
