    What do you think?
It depends what your additional features are going to be, and whether most people will find them useful. It also depends what site you're making a better version of - for example, Google tried to take on Facebook with Google+ but failed, and there are loads of sites like eBay but none have amounted to much.

But loads of things exist that are similar to other ideas only better. I used to have an app on my phone called something like Music ID, and then Shazam came along and was better. Before that, there were apps where you had to hum or type the lyrics.
Before Google, you had to Ask Jeeves.
Before Google Maps and TomTom and whatever, you used to have to go on a website and plan your route and then print it off. Before that, you had to use a physical map.
