When I asked one of the admissions tutors they said that this wasn't the case. Rare thing to ever happen regardless so no point banking on it.
I have no idea why they said that, I 100% know undergrads who have now finished first year at sheffield and got in via clearing... They messed up their admissions last time and rejected a whole load of good candidates pre-interview because they were really strict on personal statements, hence why from what I've heard this cycle they didn't use personal statements.

Strange. I suppose they were not wanting to publically announce it through fear of over-subscription? They ditched the PS this year as there was a lot of debate over the validity of assessing a candidate's ability with it, as you said. I think the main concern was over parents and teachers helping students to pen it.

That's probably the reason, I don't think it was advertised last year either, people had to directly ask them after they received their results which is why I would recommend phoning up every med school on results day, I think plymouth also had places available in August.

    Hey all!
Goodluck for results day! Just incase you don't get the grade requirement you need to study medicine or dentistry, you can always apply to study in Europe, the course is just as good as UK and even better because you get more clinical contact and you can come back to work in UK without doing any PLAB test because the unis are GMC/GDC certified. I'm currently studying in a university in Bulgaria and there are hundreds of other British students there as well so if you have any questions feel free to pm me
Hey! What website did you use to apply to do medicine at Bulgaria?☺️
