Explanation on calculation of returning student maintenance loan

Hello,

I'm just enquiring as to an explanation to my maintenance loan. I applied last Sunday as a returning student for second year of university, a lot later than the deadline given.

I sent my declaration form off the same day and got a letter back yesterday saying my application had been approved. Is this correct as for first year I had to send off some financial income information of my parents before any of this happened.

Is the system different for returning students?
