Unpaid placement year

Hi,
I have been offered an unpaid placement year in between my 2nd and 3rd years of study, I was wondering if I would be entitled to my full student loan because the placement is unpaid?
Also, it is a mental health counselling placement in an organisation/charity for people in crisis, I was wondering if this falls under the 'special circumstances' and therefore would I be entitled to extra funding?
