The Best Fake Pearls?
I want to buy a pearl necklace as a present. Money isn't too much of an issue, but here is the thing: I can't honestly afford what I'd really like.
I could afford a single string of nice pearls, but not larger than 6mm individual stones - that's about 150.
What I think she'd prefer, as she's quite ostentatious and showy, is a necklace of large stones. She likes things chunky.
So where do you get really good fake pearls? As in not ****ty cheap ones -
I would prefer the necklace to look more fab and be fake than be real and look a bit small and weak (since thats the desired look).
Big stones, like 1cm+ diameter.

I just got some pearls for my 21st last month...they came from absolute pearls.co.uk.
Might be worth a look. Not sure they will have ones big enough though. I havent really seen any that big that dont look too cheap

Thanks, there are some cheaper larger ones for about 75, they look good. Anyone else got any ideas?

If you've got some time on your hands you could trawl around some old vintage shops and jewellers. You'll inevitably stumble across something eventually! Good luck!
