Millennium House

Hi all,

So I got a response from housing and received a band D room in Millennium House. Was wondering if anyone here has lived in it and can tell me a little about it?
While band D was my first choice, I'm sort of worried about how close the House is to the train tracks, for the noise.

Thanks

Hi, I lived in Band D Twyford Court but have visited friends at Millennium a few times. Twyford is beside the train tracks too and my room faced outwards towards them- honestly, after a while I didn't even notice the noise. If you're lucky enough that your room is on the opposite side, facing towards DK, you probably won't hear them at all tbh.

Millenium is great because you only share with 5 other people- in Twyford I shared with 12 people and because of that, the kitchen got messy easily and often I had to wait to use the oven. The rooms are a good size; bigger than band D Twyford anyway. haha. Also, Millenium is the closest halls to town which is a plus.

Regarding noise, keep in mind if you were allocated Battersea/ Stag Hill/ Surrey court, the noise would be way worse keeping in mind they're at the centre of campus/ near rubix. Trust me, you'd rather have train noise than rubix noise any day!

hi, I've lived in 2 different millennium house rooms, and tbh there are so many maintenance issues, the flats are very small (there were only 4 of us in my first flat) and the trains are VERY loud. It's quite hard to socialise in millennium so make sure you go to friends' flats in other halls
