I have two possibilities in my school: go for 1 year to the USA taking the American diploma or stay in my school and taking the IB diploma. Which one is better for applying to UK universities ?

American High School diplomas are not accepted by British universities. Americans who want to study in the UK have to take the SAT or ACT exam alongside Advanced Placements (APs) which are similar to A levels - you won't be able to do that in a year.

If going to America means you wouldn't be able to finish the IB then stay at home.
