The Student Room Group

I've been asked to 'support' my child's application - what does that mean?

Our daughter says that my wife and I need to log on and 'support' her student loan application, though she doesn't know what that means. I've looked through the web site, and can't see what 'support' means to me. What does it mean?

It means you need to make a log in so you can enter your financial information for her application.

In order for her to receive the right type of support and funding through SFE for example grants.

At https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-student-finance/household-income it says that we need to provide details of income if she's applying for a full maintenance loan (i.e. she doesn't qualify for a grant). She won't qualify for a grant, according to the income levels shown on https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/content.php?r=6223-Living-costs-continuing-2017-18 (I couldn't find these figures on the student finance site), so I assume there's no point in providing our income details. I've come to the same conclusion in previous years.

By the way, the chat screen says I need to confirm my email address, though I haven't had an email requesting confirmation. I've had the welcome email, so I know you've got the right email address.

If she's had the minimum loan in previous year and your income has not changed then there's no point really.
