How long is a piece of string. The only people who'll know are others who have the same referee as you. Delaying so long won't really damage your chances as long as it's in before the UCAS deadline of January 15th.

Give your referee a kick up the arse and tell them to do it now.

It shouldn't disadvantage you, but if nothing else it's bloody rude. Two weeks?!

*how long does it take for referee to write a reference?

I am in the same position, however I would recommend not pestering your referee because that will render them irrate and ignore you.

Be patient! I am sure your referee has done many references thus knows when to send them!

It isn't really bad at all, it won't really affect your chance, and you respond to universities much later than now, at around march or april I think. But that is quite a while, just keep pushing your referee to get it done if you can, but remember that they may have to do other peoples to do as well if yours is done at college.

my school wanted our stuff all done for around the oxbridge deadline, on the assumption they would all be sent off by end of october/start of november. Still havn't had mine sent off yet.
