The true North : South divide

A highly scientific analysis by The Tab has determined the true divide between the North and the South.

The disparity is only evident in Dover and Canterbury. There are small dots on the map in Carlisle, Lancaster and Harrogate.

The most Greggs I've seen in one area, outside of Newcastle, is in Bristol.

The Tab are really letting themselves down with this one.
this is clearly a hoax...

"Less than 25,000 people per Greggs is the benchmark to distinguish whether you live in the north."

a Cambridge publication would never commit such a solecism. totes pallentes procul.

Population of Carlisle: 71,773
Number of Greggs: 4

Population per Greggs: 17,943 = Northern

(But yeah, Harrogate is practically Guildford)

So Sheffield is south of Birmingham. That's some strange geography going on there…

Let's face it, Greggs isn't a viable data point for statistical analysis of the N/S divide - only Cooplands is!

And Harrogate is a right shithole so I don't know what's going on there.

I though Harrogate was nice!? Never been, but plan to soon.

To be fair, it is quite lovely. The nicest city centre in the region, and lots of wealthy people. But the underclass are particularly disadvantaged there (or as The Tab would say, very Greggsy).

Just avoid the poor areas which I guess wasn't your motivation for visiting anyway.

Well that's a "relief". The same good be said for many places - including Guildford (or Cambridge (home of The Tab)) for that matter...
I got send this the other day.

I'm still in the Midlands on neither side of the divide :woo:

Town centre. It doesn't qualify as a city.

There are 3 on Jersey?

Jersey's nice though.

And all those holidayers from the South can't be without their creature comforts.

(And as much as it's a small island, it takes forever to get around, so 3 isn't actually that crazy.)
So Sheffield now constitutes as being in the South?

You wouldn't wanna say that to any of the locals here.

Not inherently in the South of England though, is it.

Depends on your perspective. Pretty much bang in the middle of England, really, if you go from Scottish border to south coast.
