RAF SNCO or Officer Commissioned?
I am currently preparing for my filter interview for ATC and am looking for some inside advice. I had always planned to go into SNCO ATC with the intent that some years later I could commission. However, after my cbat debrief I was questioned as to why I was not go into the commissioned side straight away (I have the academic requirements for both). I was led to believe that the specialist training was different (however I have since been told it is the same course).
Long story short, I understand that the ATC Officer has more responsibility and administrative duties compared to a SNCO ATC, but I would like advice as to how these roles differ in the work environment? And if there are any ATC officer's or SNCO ATC's out there what would you say are the main pro's/ cons's compared with each one?
