really really really cold.

Recently I've been absolutely freezing all the time, what can I do about it?

I'm usually quite a warm person, never bothered about putting a jumper on when outside until it gets really cold, never bothered about the heating at home etc but recently, well last month or so I've been so cold. I have 4 thick blankets on my bed yet still end up shivering and wearing hoody, hat, socks etc in bed. It's really affecting my concentration too, I have depression so my concentration is pretty rubbish to start with but when you're shivering all the time it really doesn't help. I'm always wearing gloves, several pairs of socks, a warm hat, couple of hoodies sometimes 2 pairs of trousers and yet I'm still so so cold.

I can't sleep, can't do any uni work, never hungry, even taking a shower is horrible because a. no motivation and b. it's so cold when part of me isn't under the water.

What can I do?

Go to a doctor.

Obviously I can't tell your thyroid hormone levels over the Internet, but given you have depression I would advise you to ask your GP for a thyroid function test - low thyroid function causes coldness and can cause or worsen mental health problems. If nothing else, it's worth ruling it out.

Have you tried eating and drinking more hot stuff like soup and hot chocolate? Maybe turn the heating up to it's highest setting as well. Oh, and have a really hot bath more often.

Assuming the OP is physically cold as opposed to feeling cold...

Hot baths make me feel really dizzy and sick. I can't stand them.

I drink a lot of tea but it doesn't help at all, I tried soup and hot chocolate too.

why are you anonymous?
I'd go the doctors, and also mention that hot baths make you dizzy cos that also sounds like a problem to me.

I'd prefer if everyone on tsr didn't know I have depression.

Hot baths make me dizzy and sick too, but I dont have the same problem as you, some people just dont do well in baths.

That's not the problem, the problem is the feeling cold. It sounds like you've done everything you could possibly try at home, and theyre not helping at all, so I'd suggest going to the doctors too.
Also, if its poor circulation that could be the problem, bathing in just hot water will just make it worse, you need to have it cold, or alternate. But as you dont know what is causing it, you cant really know what the best thing to do is. Doctor it, they'll find out

I'm always freezing cold. "Get that bloody heater on!" Everyone else goes about the house in t-shirts and there's me clenched up in the corner, about 50 layers on. Though this week I've had the heating off completely.

Maybe you're coming down with a cold, if its as bad as you're saying. In which case it shouldn't last long and you can go and get some cold and flu remedies from Boots.

I've had 3 colds recently, still got cough and sore throat from the last one. I'm never normally like this.
