Hello friends,i desperately need your advice regarding this. Due to financial situation it's difficult to do 2 years. i know i can do a level in one year but i'm not enough confident of that. Can i just do 1 year AS level at school to get the fundamental ideas and then do A2 independly at home.I am planning to take the following subjects - Chemistry,Biology and PsychologyI got A*in Biology and A in chemistry at igcse. I live in Dubai,UAEplease share your thoughts or even better, any personal experience on this

I'm not experienced with things like this but I would assume that learning AS Chemistry, Biology and Psychology at school and the A2 parts at home will be difficult because for the A2 parts, if you don't understand anything, you don't have a teacher to ask. You will be relying on textbooks or the internet.

It may be possible, there are people who study both AS&A2 independently however it may be quite difficult.

Also, in both biology and chemistry there are practical assessments that you have to do for both AS and A2, so the A2 practicals would be difficult to complete if you're not in college/sixthform. Most (if not all) universities require a pass in these assessments so they're not really optional, you may also be assessed on these practicals in the exam!
