The worst thing about Nottingham Uni

I'm considering making Nottingham my Firm choice (once all offers come in and the like), so I'm looking for a bit of objectivity in my research :p:. Everything I've read and seen makes Nottingham seem amazing, and from what I've seen it's a lovely place with an idea course for me.

However, I want to know what you think is the worst thing about studying at Notts? :p: No holds barred here, go for it

The phrase du jour is no longer Shottingham; I believe it's now Gunchester.
is there any other negatives, uncrime related?

McIntyre sucks! He's not even got a degree let alone a bunch of pass' at GCSE!! Therefore, his argument sucks and is wrong!

I also don't like that my year one history courses just seem to suck. Birth of Europe is required yet very boring. It has the potential to be a good class but the lectures are a drag. I pay international fees, as I'm from the US, so when I realise that nothing important has transpired in a few of my lectures, I wonder what the university does to justify charging me £9,000 per year.

If I had known that the year one courses were going to be like this, I would have considered going elsewhere. I'm not sure if I made the right choice in terms of the best education available. The university, on a whole, is a very nice place though. I don't live in Nottingham -- I live in Derby -- so my experience is going to be different.

I think it's silly to make stereotypes of people that attend the university. You run into all types here -- the people that feel cheated because they didn't offers from Oxford and other universities on tier with it -- and the people that blag their way through everything just to get by. The types of people here are diverse, so to go on stereotypes would be silly.

As someone born and bred in Nottingham, I can only sympathise with you for having to live in Derby...not there's any local rivalry...honest.

I actually like Derby a lot more than I like Nottingham.

Hmmmm. That new Westfield Centre is totally mint, though. You can't deny that.

Well as a Surveyor friend of mine did all the survey work on it, I have to say it's not bad.

The City in general though is pretty awful.

Do you live in the City or outskirts (if you don't mind me asking). I used to live in Long Eaton which is about half-way between Nottm and Derby.
