Eyes Starting To Reject Contact Lenses

Yeh, so i've been wearing contact lenses for the last three years now and over the last couple of months they've become really difficult to put in, they feel really uncomfortable when i put them in and sometimes my eyes become bloodshot and my vision becomes blurred shortly after putting them in. Ive never had problems with them before. A friend mentioned to me that if you wear them for long periods (10 hours +) then your eyes can start to reject them. Has anyone heard of this?

Also i'm on monthly disposables, do you think changing to dailys might help?

Never heard of rejecting them, but you shouldn't be wearing them for more than 10 at a time anyway.

Just hold off wearing them for a bit, if you can, and minimise use as much as possible until your eyes clear up a bit.

Have you changed solution recently?
And is it in both eyes?

I'd been wearing contacts for a few years and my eyes started to get pissed off with them, too. Ortho K has changed my life.

or something to do with bones, certainly.... I always make sure to have at least one, preferably two days off from my contacts every week... and, yeah, I think not wearing them for a while would be best... could be a problem if you dont also have glasses, but since most contacts wearers have both....

My eyes started to get really, really dry with contact lenses about 10 weeks ago, so I stopped wearing them and went back to glasses. I've started contacts again now without problems. If I were you I'd pop into your optician, I spoke to mine, and he told me to take a break and that it was probably hayfeever that was exacerbating it in summer, and then lack of sleep once I came to uni!

Try and get Oxygen-permeable lenses. I use these and wear them all day, every day and have done for the past 3 years...no probs
I'll always wear contacts in public, but when I'm at home/at the weekend and I cba I'll wear my glasses. Then again if u saw how ridiculous I look in glasses you would understand why!

My eyes were getting quite annoyed at my poking them twice a day, so I just switched to dailies and wore them more infrequently. Your eyes can only take so much plastic before they give up on you, it's nice to give them a break from time to time.
