I'm looking to compile a list of best movie scores and have poll or whatever to find which one the student room likes the most.

Rules
-Include movies with an original score and movies with cool soundtracks (eg: E.T/Dazed and Confused)
-Choose only one movie from a franchise (eg: only 1 Nolan batman not all 3)
-Be interesting

Good Luck

PS
Put film titles in bold so they're easy to find

Lord of the Rings

It's one of the few soundtracks that i enjoy listening to separate to the film. It's a masterpiece in my opinion.

I really love the Back To The Future soundtrack/score. Silvestri's iconic score and the songs they play throughout. Not to mention the also iconic Johnny B Goode scene at the end.

Star Wars has one of the most iconic scores. I love the Jurassic Park theme as well. Pirates of the Caribbean has a great score. Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Man of Steel

Anything Zimmer is an easy choice, but Interstellar is the first film where I noticed the score had a distinct impact on me.

I also have a soft spot for 80s (and 80s-inspired) synth soundtracks. Blade Runner's score is exceptional, John Carpenter's work is awesome, and there have been sent excellent throwback movies in recent years like It Follows and The Guest.

There are many, but I will +1 for Tron Legacy as well. brilliant for the gym and nearly as good as the remixes.
Its a shame they canceled the sequel as i was looking forward to the new soundtrack.

I'm surprised the Pi soundtrack hasn't been mentioned yet. Clint Mansell can do no wrong.

The Into the Wild soundtrack is a personal favourite, though it is essentially just an Eddie Vedder solo album :mmm:
