Yes. There is a simple way to solve this problem without a calculator.

Do you know how to simplify x4x3x^4-x^3?

Factor out 6^4

6^5 minus 6^4 is the equivalent of 6^1, which is 6.

Is it...?

6^5 minus 6^4 is the equivalent of 6^1, which is 6.

You're then left with the fraction being 6/5.

The answer is B.

The answer isn't B. It should be E.

Factorise out 6^4, and then you'll see how to get rid of the 5 entirely.

And that, ladies and gents, is why I dropped A Level Maths

I'm tired okay!

I think you're getting subtraction and division mixed up.

As above! You're absolutely right :')
Factorise the top and see if you cancel. Hint, the 5 can be cancelled.

factor out 6^4 you get 6^4(6-1)/5=6^4x5/5=6^4 so E
factorise out 64

take out the 4 (?)

6^4 is the highest common factor in the original wait but wouldnt that make 6^4 (6-1) = 6^4 x 5 which isnt an option?

Ah, you understand it!
Great so you have 64×55\dfrac{6^4 \times 5}{5}

Can you think about what you might do next?
