I was tasked with calculating the pH of one liter of soil to the hundredths decimal place using litmus paper. I determined the volume of water necessary to put the dirt in solution and calculated the pH of the water I used as a diluent and the pH of the dirt in solution but I'm not sure I have enough information to calculate the pH of the soil before I dissolved it in the water. Can anyone help?
