Hi guys!

I received my results and am officially a Sussex student, however I'm kind of disappointed with the accommodation I was given...

I was wondering if anyone was also disappointed and wanted to swap with.

I have been given a room in Park Village and would really like to swap for either
Brighthelm
Lewes court (any)

I'm sure i'm not the only one in this situation, hopefully can find a solution!

Yours truly,
A fellow sussex university student

Hey, I'm in a similar situation and was allocated Eastslope which was one of my last choices. If anyoneis willing to swap it would be much appreciated and im happy with any room with an ensuite bathroom.

I have also been given a room in Park Village, after listing all ensuite choices before this one! I would be grateful to swap to a single ensuite room, preferably Lewes Court Phase Two, or Northfield, kinda looking for a miracle here
Thanks <3

Have you called the Uni? Because I called and they said a week after moving in theres an opportunity to swap, they have an official uni accommodation swap so if you don't find anyone you'll get an opportunity on the 25th of September.
I thought I'd try and find someone myself!

I have the same problem. I've been assigned East Slope but really don't feel comfortable staying there! If anyone wants to swap, I'll take basically anywhere! I really hope I have an opportunity to swap!

So will people who aren't happy with their accommodation, be guaranteed a swap by the university on September 25th?

I don't think so.... there are so many people in our situation. Although some people were given accommodation they can't afford so they'll want the cheapest ones we have.

Hi guys, I've also been given Park Village which was not one of my preferences. Is it worth ringing to point this out or are allocations final (like the only other option being a swap)?

It's final until swap... so unless you find someone to swap with and deal with it together on arrival you have to wait

Have you called them and told them this? Because I know someone who completely forgot to apply for accommodation because of personal conditions and stuff and she called up and they automatically gave her a room in Lewes hall, I think it's worth calling

Definitely call them, and see if you can provide medical evidence of anxiety (I.e. A doctors note confirming anxiety) as that may really help

I applied to all ensuite and I was told I would get one of my choices however I received east slope, the cheapest one there. I have really bad anxiety hence why I applied for ensuite- if staff hadn't told me I would not get one of my choices I would have given them a medical note! I really want to swap for ensuite if anyone can- I've heard east slope is good for parties and such and it's very very cheap which means extra money for food etc. I am absolutely desperate at this point I'm also very upset that they 1. Didn't give me any of my choices and 2. Gave me the worst possible room. By the way I've contacted twice and there's nothing they can do except wait for swap list but I don't think I could even handle a week there!!! It's looking rather unlikely as even people who have far nicer non ensuite rooms are also desperate for ensuite!! PLEASE HELP ME lol

looks like we 2 are in the exact same position. i'm ridiculously disappointed because i specified my condition in the application and how important it is i get an ensuite but it seems they have no regard for it ( hope me and you both find an option. i hear loads drop out in the first couple of weeks which might be a gateway to an ensuite. if you'd like to try on the first day to see if we can speak to someone in person i'd be happy to go with you x

I think for me it's the fact I got so excited about having a nice clean room so not only is it we have to share a bathroom- we don't even have a sink in the room and there's many bad reviews yes we should talk to someone in person to see if they'll contact us first to let us know about any dropouts as I feel it's necessary! x

Hi everyone, I know it's a long shot but I got allocated East Slope after not even putting it down as one of my options so if anyone would like to swap with me, preferably to an en suite (any) I would be so so appreciative 😂

I recently found out I was actually assigned an east Slope studio flat, I called housing and it's basically my own flat. I have my own kitchen and ensuite! I feel so much better about my accommodation now 😂 I was mostly worried about living conditions but now that I found out I got a studio flat I feel better. I didn't even know there was such a thing but the rent seemed higher than a normal East Slope so I contacted housing and they informed me. I'll just work harder to socialise with people!
