Absolutely. It may affect your chances with the top top unis but if you can convince your teachers to give you decent predicted grades, then yes you can get offers. Even if you can't persuade them, you can put in effort to get whatever grades you want, and many excellent will accept you in adjustment. Besides your AS grades are pretty good anyway!

Hi Luke\g,

We're glad to hear that you're considering us! Did you know that we're ranked 3rd in the UK for Economics in the Guardian University Guide 2018, behind Cambridge and Oxford? :colondollar:

Let me know if you have any questions about the course, uni or life in Edinburgh!

Carole

Hi Carole i did know that you were ranked very highly but did not know that high. I am just wondering what the job prospects are like for the course and university?

Hi Luke,

As a Uni, we're pretty well known for the industry focus of our degrees so they all tend to have great job prospects, and as we're well respected for Economics, lots of our recent graduates have gone on to work for great companies or further study at top Unis.

A survey by Uni Stats found that 90% of our Economics graduates were in work or further study 6 months after graduating and that 72% of graduates had been hired in professional or managerial roles in this time.

Some jobs include procurement specialist, economics analyst, graduate economist, graduate retail banker and business consultant with companies like BP Oil and Gas, PwC, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ernst and Young. We've also had recent graduates go on to do PhDs at Harvard and Cambridge!

You might also be interested to hear that for 6 of the past 7 years we've achieved the best 'value added' score for economics in the UK. This means our students have graduated with the highest number of First and Upper Second-Class degrees relative to their entry grades.

Hope that answers some of your questions. If you want to talk to us about your options through clearing you can by calling 0131 322 3222.
