Hello, I'm losing my hope of being able to get the tuition loan as well as the
maintenance... I keep getting asked for more evidence and it's roughly 1 month until the course starts which makes me very anxious as I won't be able to go to uni without these loans.

I'm applying as a migrants workers child, my parents and I have lived in the UK for almost 4 years now - they were working and I was studying during that time.

I've sent out:
SFE application (P1)
P60
Work contracts confirmed by the Human resources departments/managers
Birth certificate
Our passports (3)
3 months worth of payslips from both parents
Signed letters confirming our address
PFF2
CYI

It seems like this case is not ending and I don't know if I'm even able to get these loans at this point, very stressful. I've sent out the last pieces of evidence on the 8th of August (instead of getting the entire list I've been getting informed about the requried pieces in chunks). The processing time is around 20 days (that's what I've been told) and the migrant workers team received my evidence on the 9th which was confirmed to me over phone. Does this mean that later this month I will get the result? Do you think there's a chance I will receive the loan?

I come from a low income family and my parents haven't changed their jobs and don't have any gaps in employment. The course I've chosen is full time and they will keep working in the UK throughout my studies. Advice?

Hi Nelshiu,

I am sorry you feel worried about the time it is taking for processing your application. The Migrant Worker process is a bit more complicated than standard student finance applications and requires a lot more evidence. The Migrant Worker Team are a specialist team who only process these type of applications. As a result any evidence sent in gets reviewed within their processing timescales and if anything else is needed it is requested and when it is sent in again it goes back into their workflows to be reviewed.

Their current processing times are now 21 working days (timescales can vary). The evidence that you noted that has been sent certainly looks like everything they would require and if you are sending in everything requested then there is no reason to assume that you wouldn't be successful in your application. For your application to take this long it's more than likely eligible as this is usually established early on so you just need to allow a bit more time for them to process your latest evidence so they can run the assessment.

If they received this on 9 August this should be processed by 8 September, check your online account on 11 September for an update.

Thanks

Thank you for replying. Could this affect the date I receive my loan? I applied well before the deadline but the process is delaying it
