I wonder what the chances are, of actually passing an 'extended driving test'..?
Must be impossible.

extended test? don't see why not when people can pass the iam test..
i know people taking the pass plus
As far as i know, the extended test is for people who have been banned and ordered to take their tests again. Usually given for things like danerous driving etc...

The extended test is no different to the ordinary driving test just twice as long, just means you have to drive to the same standard but for longer!

You only have to sit that one if you have been banned and YES people do pass extended test well at least our pupils do that is if they decide to knuckle down and WANT to pass

Pass Plus course does not have a test at the end there is nothing to PASS.
Trust me to do a pass plus course and not get the certificate at the end of it you really would have had to have driven like an absolute prat!
A pass plus course is purely to help the new driver with different road condition and weather onditions and most importntly Motorway's and also to get a discount possibly on insurance.

Thanks

IAM advanced test is 90 minutes. Significantly higher standard as well.

they have limits, just where we have a national limit, they have no limit.
(so its 30 in towns and stuff, freedom elsewhere)

The pass rate for extended tests is generally higher than for the standard car test.

Why? Because those who are required to take it have usually been driving for years and can actually drive.
I passed the extended test yesterday morning at the first time of asking but make no mistake it is quite intense and I was driving for well over an hour and 20 minutes on all types of roads including dual carriageways (twice) and backroads with a national speed limit. Your examiner will be watching you closely to make sure you are a capable safe driver so don't let nerves get the better of you and just go out and drive to the best of your abilities and if you're safe and show that you can handle all type of roads from quiet little country roads to multi-lane roundabouts you'll be fine. Be confident but don't try to come across as over confident.

my son passed an extended test and examiner gave him a pass slip. Now they wont give him his licence as he used his old provisional licence which they say should have been surrendered when disqualified.

Can people stop bumping old threads holy heck buddy.

Also yeah obviously that's the definition of disqualified, he wasn't supposed to have a license, so he's probably theoretically been driving without a valid license as well.
