Long story short, I'm missing one year of tuition funding for a year of university that I have already attended, and therefore my university is telling me that I need to pay up soon or I won’t be automatically enrolled for next year. I want to apply for another year’s funding from the Student Loan Company due to CPR.
I have a handful of reasons that I could use in my application, but some of them may be quite hard to obtain evidence for, and according to my university I need to have this sorted by 17th September.
The reasons that will be easy to prove are
-That I was stricken by a virus that caused me to miss most of my contact hours in the first term. Despite forcing myself to most of my lab and computing sessions (as lab and computer time were irreplacable) and doing what I was able to do from home, I just couldn’t keep up with the workload.
-That I have suffered chronic depression for several years, which, despite my efforts, has had a strong, adverse effect on my ability to study; mental fog, poor retention/memory, sleeplessness and tiredness; the whole depression-related shebang. Though it’s chronic, it was particularly bad for the year in question.
I can prove these easily enough with letters from my GP and the Student Support Service, both of which are at my university.
My question is, will this make for a strong enough case? Because I also have other, family-related reasons which would probably help my case, but they might be quite hard to prove. As I’m fairly short on time now, I’d prefer to just send off the health-related reasons above; would that be sufficient?
