    Preppy? No.
Student bubble? Perhaps, depending on what you expect from university life.

Oh you're going to love it there!

The bubble they have going on won't make you feel disconnected from the outside at all - it'll just make you feel a lot more at home when you're at Loughborough, so don't worry

Are you coming far away from home to the town?

Which city? Loughborough is a town. Leicester, Derby and Nottingham are nearby cities. Birmingham is not far either.

And Loughborough University is definitely not "preppy".

Uni is only like a 20 min walk from town and you can also get a direct bus (about 10mins). You don't really have to leave campus if you don't want to what with campus shops/ deliveries, but you definitely won't be disconnected either.
I would actually suggest you hop on the bus to town each week for the market. You can get some HUGE potatoes for meals and might spot a few bargains too.

You might like to go on google maps and check out the bus times and street view the walk to give you a better idea.

you'll be in a student bubble but loughborough is pretty friendly and most students like the atmosphere there... it's way cheaper than being in a city, they still have shops, cinema etc, the transport links are also great so it's very easy to get to notts, leicester or derby
