Gcse Maths and English Grade Boundaries for 2018

I'm currently in year 10, however looking at the Grade boundaries for the top grade in Maths and English, I was surprised to see how low the boundaries are for a grade 9( in maths and English language especially). In my school we were told that a grade 9 would be around 230/240 maths and at the time, that seemed correct. Come next year, will the Grade boundaries for maths and English resemble the ones this year or is it likely that they will be higher than this year?

I thought a 9 would be 230. It was 189. It was too low imo. Next year, add 20 marks. I think a 9 should be 220.
It will be low for the next couple of years as children currently going into year 10 and 11 did not get the 9-1 grade education.

(A*-G) I have come up with a few subject predicted grade boundaries ... I should think this will be pretty accurate due to the research I've put in to it (also my have predictions have been right in previous years, to the nearest couple of percent) Please let me know if there are any other subjects you would like to know.
Thank You.

Do you think the grade boundaries for the subjects transitioning over to 9-1(Comp Sci ect) this year will be lowered like last years English and maths? I am in year 11 currently.

I think it will depend on the exam board as to how much lower it will be for example OCR may have lower grade boundaries than an exam board like edexcel (this is just an example edexcel may be lower than OCR), which is what it was like last year for the English and Maths. So to be honest with you I think yes most subjects will be lower, it just depends on the exam board and even the exam as to how much lower. Something like computer science is a relatively new subject and the fact it is already moving over to 9-1 makes me think that the grade boundaries will be quite a bit lower than what it was on grade A*-G, if you would like me to I can make more grade boundary predictions for any subject, just let me know.

Hi Ray,
For both English we used edexcel and for the rest was AQA. If you have a particular exam board you would like me to look at I can do that for you no problem!
Thanks.

hey
is it possible you could find the geography B edexcel boundaries
Please could you suggest the grade boundaries for the following:

AQA Trilogy Science (Double Science)
Edexcel RS
AQA Computer Science

Thanks very much for this service

I think they will lower too, they need to because they are a lot harder than A* - G so the boundaries need to reflect the higher difficulty.
Can you predict - OCR Comp Sci

It won't be too far from my previous maths prediction if you look above, because its edexcel (and their grade boundaries tend to be higher than other boards) add about 3% to every grade and that should be it exact.

Hello,

yes no problem, edexcel is the highest precentage grade boundary board usually (this is why some may seem high), so here you go:
Grade 9 = 92%
Grade 8 = 86%
Grade 7 = 79%
Grade 6 = 71%
Grade 5 = 62%
Grade 4 = 53%
Grade 3 = 44%
I was one of the first to do the English maths and English lit exams. The maths was incredible hard that it made me cry and I did foundation. By some miracle I passed at grade 4. My English was marked wrong so I failed first time but after remarked I’ve passed. I struggled with English language. I got grade 5 in English lit. I was told that it was only last year that they would accept grade 4 as a pass and from 2018 onwards you need grade 5 to pass. The exams were incredibly hard and it was all over Facebook and Twitter about the maths therefore the grade boundaries were really low. I think this year they may increase it as last year was the first time they did it. If you look at the exam paper if it’s out you’ll see how hard it was.
