I know I'm posting a lot, I'm sorry. So I did AQA French, and got an A overall, BUT it's 60% coursework and 40% exam (unit 1 and 2 are exams, 20% each, 3 and 4 are coursework, 30% each). In units 2,3 and 4 I got A*s in all, but in unit 1 I got a B, but shouldnt 3 A*s and a B make an A* overall?? If I'm right then how can I challenge this?

A B has the numerical value of 6.
An A has the numerical value of 7.
So 20% of 6 plus 80% of 8 is 7.6
But if you're overall UMS score is only a few UMS from an A* you should probably think about a remark

It's all to do with the amount of UMS marks you got. Does your result slip provide the UMS marks?

Unit 1: 44 UMS/21 Raw (B, 2 off an A)
Unit 2: 54 UMS/32 Raw (Borderline A*)
Unit 3: 81 UMS/55 Raw (Borderline A*)
Unit 4: 86 UMS/58 Raw (A*)

You need 270/300 UMS for an A* and 240 for an A. You got 265 so you were very close
