if it is your LNAT, Oxford would have rejected you already. don't worry.

talespirit dw u'll be fine, i think the fact that u got an interview at oxford says a lot in your favour because they selectively interview and people can give a better impression in person than on paper

however, if u got to oxford and i get to cambridge i'm afraid we'll have to be life long enemies

Don't worry -- plenty of people get rejected from one or more of their uni choices, but still get into Oxbridge. I know someone, actually, who got rejected from ALL her other choices (yes, all 5), but has a place and is doing just fine here!
Yeah, a friend of mine got into Cambridge for Law, but got rejected from UCl and LSE.
I know a number of people who got rejected from Durham, Nottingham, UCL and LSE for English, Law and Medecine/Science-y stuff. One of my friends then got a scholarship in her first year at Oxford, so maybe it's because you're so great; they assumed you'd be accepted by Oxbridge. Take it as a compliment and don't let it affect your confidence.
Someone I know got rejected from Durham, but then recieved an offer from Oxford.
Don't worry :]
mmm, i got rejected from LSE for law... i think with subjects like law (and the London Unis) a lot actually depends on whether you are an international student.. so don't fret!

Also, perhaps LSE rejected you because they felt you were almost certainly Oxbridge material? I also have a slight suspicion that LSE law is far more oversubscribed than Oxbridge law - maybe not though!!

Regardless, best of luck!

LSE has had almost 3500 applications for 150 spaces for M100 Law!

Lots of people get rejected from LSE but make it to Oxbridge - the interview system means they can discover the true potential of people that LSE simply miss by just counting up the A*s.

for those of us that will get rejected from oxbridge but get offers from lse (like me) that makes me feel alot better! I know cambridge have 212 places for law and recieve fewer offers so when a cambridge rejection thread starts keep ur chins up lse offer recievers!

yer and lse gives out like 4 offers per one place, whereas oxbridge doesnt. oxbridge is far more competitive than LSE. the only subjects of LSE that can actually compete with oxbridge is economics and politics.

oh right - what if that majority of those hit their conditions? how will they accomodate everyone? They can take 500 laws undergrads if the capacity is only 150

Actually, the ratio of offers:tongue:laces at LSE for M100 is something like 2.7which means out of 150 places they will give out a maximum of 450 offers (assuming ratio of 1:3).

450/3500 = 1 in 7.7 chance of receiving offer at LSE for M100.

Compare this to M100 at Cambridge in which there is a 1 in 5.1 chance of receiving an offer (1113 applications, 237 offers).

Well if they give out 450 offers they are assuming that around 300 people will decline the offer, hold it as insurance (and go to their firm anyway) or miss the offer. It's a guessing game and they can't get it right every year, but 150 is pretty typical. Since the ratio is quite high, I don't think anyone gets in if they miss their offer.

oh right - that cleared that up even though i should have been able to work that out (people declining/lse = 2nd choice). Hopefully i'll get a place at cambridge and that'll be the case for me but i guess its not worth being too optimistic.

the quality of applicants for cambridge is higher as well.LSE's admission system is just stupid. to get into Economics all you need is 8A*s. my mate didnt get in there just cuz of that, but he is doing very well in Cambidge.

Well, in my case, that part's not entirely true because they interview ALL international students who applied for an interview at one of the international centres.

And i doubt we'll be enemies, seeing two teachers at my school (one graduated from cambridge, one from oxford) teaches in the same department and they see each other everyday...seem to get along fine lol.
