Geology is a science, however it is more descriptive and theoretical than experimental. There will be elements of maths, chemistry, physics etc involved, but nothing too complicated (I took A Level geology without any other science A Levels and got an A). It's more focused on the description and identification of rocks, minerals, fossils, structures and so on rather than 'hard' science

Does the college you're thinking of going to have any specific grade requirements in GCSE science for A Level Geology? Also, have you got any idea of what you'd like to do after A Levels?

I'd recommend having a look at the course content for A Level Geology if you haven't already, to see whether it's something you might like to study. It overlaps in places with physical geography, but it goes into a lot more detail on materials and processes which occur below the surface. I think it's a great subject personally (though I may be a tad biased as I study it at uni )
